About Us
In the 90's, the city was rough but fun, and there were plenty of places to go, but there were long stretches of empty and shuttered storefronts in between. I knew people who’d gotten mugged and I saw a lot of fights. Nothing crazy.. just drunks brawling. Despite being rougher, New Yorkers respected each other’s personal space more. Always letting passengers off the trains before boarding, saying excuse me, and raising hell at the few bicyclists, mostly messengers, who dared ride on the sidewalk. Of course, there was always plenty of rudeness, and three card monte, and drugs. It wasn’t cheap to live here but you could get by by being an artist or just goofing off and having a great time. It’s still my favorite time in New York.
My store is a throwback to the late 80's early 90's. My prints are vintage inspired to somehow recapture that weightless feeling of summer laughter... which at times like these, could feel like catching lightning in a bottle.
